Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield and his wife, Emily, announced the birth of their first son, Maverick, on Wednesday on Instagram.
“Baby Mav is here,” Emily Mayfield wrote Wednesday on the social media platform.
The Mayfields, who were married in 2019, welcomed daughter Kova Jade, their first child, in 2024. Maverick Thorne Mayfield was born Thursday.
“Soaking up these sweet moments as a family of four,” Mayfield wrote. She had announced in November she was expecting her second child.
Baker Mayfield, who earned his second consecutive Pro Bowl selection last season, is entering the final year of the three-year, $100 million contract extension he signed in 2024. The eight-year veteran completed 63.2% of his throws for 3,693 yards, 26 scores and 11 interceptions over 17 starts last season.
Mayfield has not missed a start since signing with the Buccaneers in 2023. He celebrated his 31st birthday on April 14.
The Buccaneers started their off-season workout program Monday. They will hold mandatory minicamp from June 16 to 18. Tampa Bay will hold organized team activities May 26 to 28 and June 2 to 4 and 9 to 11.
