The Dallas Cowboys agreed to trade a fourth-round pick in the 2027 NFL Draft in exchange for Green Bay Packers edge rusher Rashan Gary, sources familiar with the transaction told UPI on Monday.
Gary, 28, signed a four-year, $96 million extension in 2023 and is under contract through 2027. The No. 12 overall pick by the Packers in the 2019 NFL Draft earned a Pro Bowl selection in 2024. He totaled 46.5 sacks over the first 106 appearances of his career.
The 6-foot-5, 277-pound edge rusher logged a career-high 9.5 sacks in 2021, his third season with the Packers. He registered nine sacks in 2023 and 7.5 quarterback takedowns each of the last two years.
Gary totaled 46 combined tackles, a forced fumble, fumble recovery and pass defensed over 16 appearances last season.
The Packers will clear nearly $11 million in salary cap space with the trade.
