Brian Snitker’s 10-year tenure as Atlanta Braves manager is over, the team announced Wednesday. Snitker’s Braves went 811-668 and won the 2021 World Series.
The Braves said Snitker, 69, will transition to an advisory role in 2026. He will be inducted into the Atlanta Braves Hall of Fame next season. Snitker’s contract expired after the 2025 season.
Snitker, who recently talked about considering retirement, took over as Braves interim manager in 2016. The Braves went 59-65 and 72-90 in his first two seasons.
They then posted winning records in the next seven seasons, including the title-winning 2021 run and 101- and 104-win campaigns in 2022 and 2023, respectively.
The Braves captured six consecutive National League East division titles from 2018 through 2023. They went 76-86 this season, failing to make the playoffs for the first time since 2017.
Snitker, the 2018 National League Manager of the Year, ranks third on the Braves’ all-time wins list, trailing only Bobby Cox (2,149) and Frank Selee (1,004). He was the second-winningest active manager in MLB, with his 811 victories trailing only Los Angeles Dodgers skipper Dave Roberts (944).
