The Buffalo Bills agreed to acquire veteran wide receiver D.J. Moore through a trade with the Chicago Bears, a league source told UPI on Thursday.
The Bears agreed to send Moore and a fifth-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft to the Bills in exchange for a second-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. The trade cannot become official until Wednesday, the first day of the NFL’s new league year.
Moore, 28, spent the last three seasons with the Bears. The eight-year veteran hauled in a career-low 50 catches for 682 yards and six scores over 17 appearances in 2025. He hasn’t missed a start since 2020.
Moore the No. 24 overall pick by the Carolina Panthers in the 2018 NFL Draft, joined the Bears in a 2023 trade. He totaled career-highs in catches (96), yards (1,364) and touchdowns (eight) over 17 starts in his first season with the Bears, but experienced regression each of his last two campaigns.
The 6-foot, 213-pound pass catcher totaled 608 catches for 8,213 yards and scored 43 touchdowns over his first 131 appearances in the NFL. Moore signed a four-year, $110 million contract extension with the Bears in 2024. He is signed through 2029.
Rome Odunze, Luther Burden III and tight end Colston Loveland are set to be the Bears’ top receiving options in 2026. Moore will enter a Bills wide receivers room that features Khalil Shakir, Josh Palmer and Keon Coleman, among others.
