Jordan Love threw two passing scores and played turnover-free football, while the Green Bay Packers defense totaled seven sacks to spark a 30-13 victory over the Seattle Seahawks.

The Packers held the Seahawks to just 208 total yards and held an edge in time of possession of more than five minutes in the triumph Sunday at Lumen Field in Seattle. Running back Josh Jacobs totaled 136 yards from scrimmage and a score on 30 touches. Wide receiver Romeo Doubs found the end zone twice. Advertisement

“We kinda knew they were a pass-first team, so that alone gave us the cue that the defensive line had to affect the quarterback and the pass game,” pass rusher Kingsley Enagbare, who registered two of the Packers’ seven sacks, told reporters.

“I guess we did exactly that.”

Edgerrin Cooper, Rashan Gary, Brenton Cox Jr., Devonte Wyatt and Carl Brooks logged the Packers’ other five quarterback takedowns. Cooper and Carrington Valentine also recorded interceptions for the Packers, who won for the eighth time in 10 games.

“I was proud of our team effort, especially our defense,” Packers coach Matt LaFleur told reporters. “I thought they played a really good game for four quarters, got constant pressure on the quarterback and got a couple takeaways.”

The Packers, who never trailed, used a 10-play, 63-yard drive to score on the game’s opening possession. Jacobs ended that drive with a 1-yard run. Love connected with Doubs on a 13-yard toss with about two minutes remaining in the first quarter for a 14-0 Packers advantage.

Seahawks kicker Jason Myers made a 48-yard field goal two minutes into the second quarter, but Packers kicker Brandon McManus answered with a 39-yard field goal on the next possession. Valentine intercepted Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith on the following possession. Advertisement

That turnover turned into points when McManus hit a 21-yard field goal in the final seconds of the first half, resulting in a 20-3 Packers edge at the break.

Myers made a 45-yard kick midway through the third quarter. McManus again replied with a 23-yard field goal on the next drive. Running back Zach Charbonnet ran for a 24-yard score about four minutes into the fourth, but the Seahawks never scored again.

With less than 5:30 remaining, Cooper intercepted Seahawks quarterback Sam Howell, who replaced Smith when he injured his knee in the third quarter. Love threw a 22-yard touchdown toss to Doubs just seconds later, cementing the Packers victory.

Love completed 20 of 27 passes for 229 yards for the Packers. Smith completed 15 of 19 passes for 149 yards and an interception. Howell completed 5 of 14 passes for 24 yards and an interception.

Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald said Smith will undergo tests on the knee Monday to determine the extent of the injury.

“It stings,” Macdonald said of the loss. “You’ve gotta give Green Bay a lot of credit. I thought they out-coached us. We didn’t have a good enough plan in all three phases. I’m responsible for that. And frankly, we didn’t play good enough. The things we’ve been doing that have won us games, we didn’t do those things.” Advertisement

The Packers (10-4) will host the New Orleans Saints (5-9) at 8:15 p.m. EST Dec. 23 in Green Bay, Wis. The Seahawks (8-6) will host the Minnesota Vikings (11-2) at 4:05 p.m. Sunday in Seattle.
