The Denver Broncos agreed to acquire wide receiver Jaylen Waddle through a trade with the Miami Dolphins, a league source told UPI on Tuesday.
The Broncos agreed to send the Dolphins the No. 30 overall pick, a third-round pick and a fourth-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft in exchange for Waddle and a 2026 fourth-round selection.
Waddle, 27, joined the Dolphins as the No. 6 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. He signed a three-year, $84.75 million extension with the Dolphins in 2024. He remains under contract through 2028.
Waddle caught 64 passes for 910 yards and six scores over 16 appearances last season for the Dolphins. He caught 373 passes for 5,039 yards and scored 27 total touchdowns over his five seasons with the Dolphins.
He is to join a Broncos wide receivers room that also features Courtland Sutton and Troy Franklin, among others.
Tutu Atwell, Jalen Tolbert, Malik Washington, Terrace Marshall Jr., Theo Wease Jr., Tahj Washington and A.J. Henning are among wide receivers under contract with the Dolphins through 2026, after the team released Tyreek Hill and agreed to trade Waddle.
The move to trade Waddle came less than a month after Dolphins general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan said his “vision is for Jaylen to be part of this.” Sullivan said he was also not “actively trying to move” Waddle or Dolphins running back De’Von Achane.
If the trade with Waddle is completed, the Dolphins will enter the 2026 NFL Draft with seven picks inside the Top 100, including the Nos. 11 and 30 in the first round. The Dolphins also hold a second-round selection and four third-round selections.
The 2026 NFL Draft will be held from April 23 to 25 in Pittsburgh.
