Tennessee’s Jermod McCoy, a top 2026 NFL Draft prospect who sat out in 2025 with a torn ACL, is fully healed, he said at the NFL scouting combine Thursday in Indianapolis.
McCoy sustained the right knee injury while training in January 2025. He underwent medical exams this week, but will not participate in drills with other defensive back prospects.
“I can do everything. No limits,” McCoy said Thursday at the Indiana Convention Center.
McCoy plans to participate in drills at Tennessee’s pro day. He joins LSU’s Mansoor Delane, Clemson’s Avieon Terrell and former Tennessee teammate Colton Hood as one of the top cornerback prospects in the 2026 NFL Draft class.
He said he thinks NFL teams “respect” his decision to not participate in drills in Indianapolis.
“The plan from the jump was for me to do pro day,” McCoy said. “Come out here and do all my medicals and stuff and show that I’m healthy.”
The former Volunteers defender, who watches film of NFL stars Derek Stingley Jr. and Jalen Ramsey, touted his play-making ability as his best attribute, but said he could improve on his tackling technique. He also said it was a “clear-cut decision” to leave Tennessee for the NFL.
“I just felt ready,” he said.
McCoy, who logged 44 combined tackles, nine passes defensed and four interceptions over 13 appearances in 2024 for the Volunteers, said he met with the Kansas City Chiefs, Dallas Cowboys, Pittsburgh Steelers, Miami Dolphins and other NFL teams.
