The two-time Pro Bowl selection totaled 19 combined tackles and three sacks over eight games last season. He missed nine games because of a torn left pectoral muscle.
The Commanders can save $16.3 Million in salary cap space if Allen is traded or released before June 1.
Allen, the No. 17 overall pick by the Commanders in the 2017 NFL Draft, totaled 42 sacks over 109 games for the franchise.
