Kyren Williams ran for 108 yards, while Kobie Turner logged two sacks and Joshua Karty made four field goals to lead the Los Angeles Rams to a sloppy primetime triumph over the San Francisco 49ers at Levi’s Stadium.
The Rams and 49ers combined for 493 yards, 25 first downs and failed the reach the end zone in the 12-6 NFC West divisional affair Thursday in Santa Clara, Calif. Wet weather, strong defense and erratic quarterback play resulted in sluggish drives throughout the contest. The Rams did not hold a lead until the fourth quarter. Advertisement
“This team has found a bunch of different ways to win football games,” Rams coach Sean McVay told reporters. “You come off a 44-42 game the other day and then you win 12-6.
“Our group did what they needed to do to be able to get it done.”

Kicker Jake Moody gave the 49ers an initial edge with a 53-yard field goal five minutes into the game. Karty eventually tied the score with a 48-yard attempt just before halftime. Advertisement
Moody gave the lead back to the 49ers midway through the third quarter. Karty made the score 6-6 with a 23-yard kick 1:22 into the fourth. He added a 27-yard field goal about four minutes later to give the Rams their first lead.
He split the uprights from 29 yards out in the final seconds for the last points of the night.
No quit.

The Rams (8-6), winners of seven of their last nine games, remain in the playoff hunt. They will face the New York Jets (3-10) on Dec. 22 in East Rutherford, N.J. Advertisement
“We have an opportunity to keep our season alive every single time we go out there and play,” Stafford said. “That’s a whole lot of fun. I think our team has shown we can win football games any way you want in a four day span.
“We have to continue to get better. By no means was it a great performance by us as an offense, but that was some good team football.”
The 49ers (6-8), who are playoff long shots, will take on the Miami Dolphins (6-7) at 4:25 p.m. Dec. 22 in Miami Gardens, Fla.
